Reason NSW joins forces with Fairer Education Party to form the new Public Education Party

In 2022, the committee members of Reason NSW considered there were grounds for potentially winding up the party.  The major motivations were the achievement of a long-held objective to ensure the passage of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act in May 2022, and the lack of success for candidates representing multifaceted parties in recent elections.  The decision was difficult for those of us who voluntarily gave our time and energy to numerous campaigns.

Another option was to merge with a like-minded party.  The members of the Public Education Party share the same interests and beliefs as those of Reason NSW.  They are committed to the same principles of fairness, equality, inclusiveness, evidence-based decision-making, and integrity in government while pursuing the objective of excellent, well-funded and secular public education in NSW.

We would like to express our deep gratitude for your ongoing support and membership of the Public Education Party.  We appreciate the trust you demonstrated while remaining with us to to achieve the principles Fairer Education shares with Reason - fairness, equity, inclusiveness, evidence-based decision-making, and integrity in government, while we pursue the realisation of a well funded and resourced, secular public education system in NSW.

Thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support for the right of every child and young person, from all backgrounds in NSW, to access a high-quality curriculum taught by qualified teachers.

Over the past few months, we have registered as a political party and are officially now recognised as the Public Education Party. We developed our new website www.publiceducationparty.org.au

Our goal is for a candidate of the Public Education Party to be elected to the Legislative Council in March 2023.  We also seek candidates for Legislative Assembly seats.

YOU CAN HELP BY:
